Is my layover long enough?
Type the airport where you change planes and the minutes between flights. It is graded against the airport’s published minimum connection time, the kind of connection, and whether your tickets protect you — the same check the TripHappens Score runs on a whole trip.
What the grade means
Under the minimum. Your connection is shorter than the airport publishes for that kind of change. Airlines will still sell it; that does not make it a good idea.
Tight. It clears the minimum, but anything under an hour domestic or two hours international leaves no room for a late arrival, a gate at the far end, or a queue at passport control.
Comfortable. Room to spare. Go find the good coffee.
Separate tickets. Two bookings means two contracts: if the first flight is late, the second leaves without you and nobody owes you a seat. That outranks every other grade.
Arriving in the US or Canada
Landing from abroad and connecting to a domestic flight means passport control, collecting your bag, customs and security all over again before the next gate. Pick that option in the checker; it moves the comfortable line to two and a half hours.
