Trip Happens earns money in two ways: affiliate commissions on products and services we recommend, and travel-planning commissions paid by hotels and travel suppliers to Lisa Roehrs as a Fora Travel advisor. This page explains both, plainly.
Some links on this website — including links to Amazon, hotel booking platforms, tour operators, gear brands, and travel-service providers — are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, Trip Happens may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.
Trip Happens is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and related Amazon domains.
We may also use affiliate links for travel insurance providers (including SafetyWing), eSIM and travel-tech brands (including Airalo), luggage and gear brands, hotel and experience booking platforms, and B2B software partners for distributed teams (including Navan, TravelPerk, Deel, and Oyster HR, where approved). Where this happens, the same promise applies — the recommendation comes first, the commission second.
We are also building partnerships with travel and remote-work-focused platforms across the digital-nomad and team-retreat categories. Any new commercial partnerships will be added to this page and disclosed clearly on relevant content.
Lisa Roehrs is an independent travel advisor with Fora Travel. When you book a trip through Lisa as your Fora advisor, hotels and travel suppliers pay Fora a commission — not you. The advisor service is included at no additional cost, and in most cases the perks Fora can secure (room upgrades, daily breakfast, hotel credit, early check-in, welcome amenities) are worth significantly more than any potential cost difference.

Affiliate and advisor commissions keep Trip Happens running — paying for the website, the research, the time spent testing gear and visiting properties. They do not buy positive coverage. If we lose your trust, we lose the audience that makes this work in the first place.
